South Sound Exotic Bird Society

SSEBS
MISSION STATEMENT
To
further and encourage the advancement of avian knowledge through support of
general and field research with the aims of gaining and distributing
information about all types of exotic birds, and furthering preservation of
the world's parrots in their native habitats.
To support parrot welfare organizations by making financial and other
donations.
To educate companion parrot caregivers about how to adequately provide for the welfare of parrots in captivity through educational outreach programs
To provide a social forum for people with an interest in parrots.
We meet in the Olympia Center, 222 North Columbia, room 103 (use the Capitol Way
entrance), downtown Olympia.
Meetings are held the second Friday of the
month from 7:00-10pm. Guest speakers are frequently scheduled. We also have a holiday party in December.
All interested people are welcome to attend a meeting. Your membership includes
a monthly newsletter to remind you of meetings and upcoming events.
Our contract with the Olympia Center requires that we follow its rule of no animals or birds at meetings unless it is part of a speaker's presentation. This affects the SSEBS insurance policy.
